The first half 3-point shooting of Adriel DeNaples, Jason Shields and Matt Show got Dunmore, Scranton and Abington Heights started on their way toward non-league boys victories Monday night.
Each hit at least four 3-pointers in the first half.
Dunmore 59, Valley View 46
DeNaples made seven 3-pointers, including three in each of the first two quarters, while scoring 27 points to lead the Bucks to the road win.
Dunmore took a 26-15 halftime lead with DeNaples scoring all but one of the team’s baskets.
DeNaples had 11 points and Nico Ruggiero hit a 3-pointer for a 14-8 lead after one quarter. DeNaples added 10 more points in the second quarter.
Ruggiero helped close out the win, hitting 2 more 3-pointers in the fourth quarter when he scored 8 of his 13 points.
Colin Skeen scored all 13 of his points in the fourth quarter when Valley View tried to fight back from a 41-24 deficit.
Eli Yusavage also finished with 13 points while L.V. Pegula had 12.
Scranton 69, Wyoming Valley West 49
Shields had 16 of his 23 points in the first half with the help of four of his five 3-pointers.
Arvel Chandler joined Shields with eight points each for a 20-16 lead after one quarter.
The Spartans closed within 31-30 at halftime before A.J. Dinterman had eight points to key a 21-5, third-quarter advantage. Josh Williams had all six of his points during the run.
Chandler finished with 13 points and Dinterman 12.
Jon Mann scored 15 points and Tyreese Harris had 10 for Wyoming Valley West.
Abington Heights 77, Wyoming Seminary 29
Matt Show did all of his scoring on four 3-pointers in a game-changing, 14-2 run over five minutes to end the first quarter and start the second quarter.
Show, the only player in the game to score in double figures, had 12 of the points in the 14-2 run that turned a 9-6 deficit with two minutes left in the first quarter into a 20-11 lead with 5:19 remaining in the half.
After Wyoming Seminary scored, four different Abington Heights players had baskets as the Comets ran off nine more points for a 29-13 lead.
The Comets were already well in control when they ran off a streak of 20 points in the third and fourth quarters to make it 64-25.
Michael Marion hit two 3-pointers during that outburst. Will Marion also had two baskets and Carson Kelleher added the last two of the streak.
Abington Heights had seven players add between six and nine points.
Isaiah Stull led Wyoming Seminary with nine points.

Old Forge 53, Lackawanna Trail 20
Joe Macciocco scored 12 of his 18 points in the second quarter to lead the Blue Devils to the road victory.
Old Forge held Lackawanna Trail to four field goals.
Dino Domiano hit a 3-pointer and another basket in the second quarter when the Blue Devils stretched a 13-4 lead to 39-11 at halftime.
Ayden Davitt made two 3-pointers in the third quarter and Old Forge went to the fourth leading 47-18.
Brycen Decker led Lackawanna Trail with nine points.
Montrose 55, Towanda 45
Playing for the third time in four nights to open the season, Montrose picked up its first win by going 23-for-44 from the line in the road game.
Sam Stashko led the Meteors, going 18-for-23 from the line while scoring 30 points.
Pittston Area 47, Holy Cross 43
Holy Cross cut a 16-point, third-quarter deficit to one in the final minute, but host Pittston Area held on by hitting clutch free throws.
Dominic Jannuzzi made both ends of a one-and-one with 32.6 seconds left, then Anthony Cencetti made one of two with 13.7 seconds remaining to close the scoring.
Jannuzzi finished with 13 points and Cencetti had 10.
West Scranton 79, Honesdale 48
With the Jerry Finan Tournament at Carbondale canceled, the Invaders and Hornets agreed to meet at Honesdale instead.
West Scranton made the most of the trip with Tristan Lee scoring 25 points and Antonio Torres adding 21.
Riverside 50, Wyoming Area 28
Frankie Antoniacci scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack as Riverside won on the road.
Michael Samsell and Anthony Karpinski added 11 points each.
The Vikings led just 26-21 at halftime before holding the Warriors to seven second-half points.
Dane Schutter led Wyoming Area with 10 points.
Crestwood 54, Nanticoke 37
Crestwood ran out to a 19-7 lead after one quarter and remained in command the rest of the way.
Zayne Dunsmuir reached double figures in scoring by halftime as the lead grew to 30-15.
