Blue Ridge got off to a successful start under new coach Wes Parks, winning games Friday and Saturday in the Susquehanna-Bradford County Challenge.
J.J. Rosa and Conner Cranage scored in double figures in both games as Blue Ridge opened with a 55-52 victory over defending District 4 Class 2A champion Wyalusing Valley and followed that up by beating host Sayre, 67-55.
The Raiders put three players in double figures in each game.
Cranage had 14, Dylan Bradley 13 and Rosa 10 in the opener.
Rosa scored 18, Gavin Bennett 15 and Cranage 11 in the second game.
Susquehanna lost to the same two teams.
The Sabers lost to Sayre, 50-45, then Wyalusing Valley, coached by Susquehanna graduate Brent Keyes, 61-32.
Dom Fabbri scored 21 points for Sayre after being held scoreless in the first quarter when Susquehanna took a 9-6 lead.
Colton Stone scored 17 points and Spencer Beamer added 10 in the loss.
Beamer also scored 10 points in the Saturday game when Isaiah Way had 22 to lead Wyalusing.
The Susquehanna-Bradford County Challenge follows a pre-planned schedule. The other opening weekend four-team events followed a traditional tournament format.

Joe Nespoli Tournament
Berwick reached the final of its own 21st annual Nespoli Tournament before settling for second place.
Northwest finished third and Delaware Valley fourth.
Jackson Smith and Sean Murphy scored 14 points each when Berwick advanced to the final with a 56-47 victory over Northwest.
Smith had 12 of his points in the fourth quarter when Berwick scored 24 to add to a four-point lead.
Gary McLendon led Northwest with 18 points.
East Stroudsburg South then handled Berwick, 57-24, in the final.
McLendon and Tayler Yaple scored 23 points when Northwest defeated Delaware Valley, 68-53, in the third-place game.
Yaple hit three 3-pointers and scored 14 points while McLendon added 9 when the Rangers jumped out to a 25-10 lead after one quarter.
Northwest expanded the lead to 39-18 at halftime.
Jake Brower led Delaware Valley with 16 points and Ryan Doherty added 10.
East Stroudsburg South placed four scorers in double figures and defeated Delaware Valley, 62-37, in a Friday first-round game.
Doherty went 9-for-11 from the line while leading Delaware Valley with 18 points.
Lake Region Tip-Off Tournament
Wallenpaupack hosted the tournament and finished third.
The Buckhorns lost to Stroudsburg, 40-27, then defeated Monticello (N.Y.), 70-40.
