Adriel DeNaples made all 15 of his free throws Tuesday while helping Dunmore avenge a tournament loss and remain unbeaten in Lackawanna League Division 3 boys play with a 35-24 victory over visiting Holy Cross.
DeNaples finished with 21 points while leading division leader Dunmore to its third straight win since falling to Holy Cross, 42-38, in the Lynett Memorial Tournament consolation game.
The Bucks moved a half-game in front of idle Mid Valley with the win in the game that matched teams ranked among the top Small Schools in the My City Mortgage Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
No. 3 Dunmore improved to 3-0 in the division and 7-4 overall. No. 4 Holy Cross is 0-2 and 4-5.
Holy Cross held Dunmore scoreless in the first quarter and without a field goal in the first half while taking an 11-6 lead.
DeNaples made six second-quarter free throws to account for Dunmore’s first-half scoring. He made three more while scoring five points in the third quarter when the Bucks moved in front, 18-17.
DeNaples had 10 more points in the fourth quarter, including six more free throws, the last two of which came with 39 seconds left for a 32-24 lead.
The Bucks were 18-for-19 from the line. Luca Boles went 3-for-4, following up the only miss by making the second attempt with 14 seconds left.
Kevin Walsh added a late layup to close the scoring.
Boles and Walsh had five points each.
Hayden Hosie led Holy Cross with 14 points. Gabe Gonzales added nine.
Dallas and Hazleton Area also remained unbeaten in league play while Pittston Area handed Wilkes-Barre Area its first league loss.

Dallas 66, Berwick 35
Austin Finarelli continued his explosive offensive outbursts with 15 of his 19 points in the first quarter when Dallas ran out to a 30-12 lead at Berwick.
Finarelli twice has had 17-point quarters this season and had 13 first-quarter points in Friday’s win over Wyoming Valley West.
The latest big start allowed Dallas to become the first team in District 2, boys or girls, to reach 4-0 in league play.
Jackson Wydra had six points in the first quarter, Michael Bufalino added five and Nick Nocito had the other four.
Finarelli and Bufalino, finished with nine points, completed their scoring in the first half, which ended with Dallas in front, 44-22.
Sean Murphy led Berwick with 10 points.
Hazleton Area 58, Wyoming Valley West 49
Eliud Lopez scored 15 points to lead five Hazleton Area players in double figures in the WVC Division 1 road win.
Sammy Guzman added 13 points. Luke Gennaro, Josin Guerra and Joe Marshall scored 10 each.
Guerra had eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The Cougars improved to 2-0 in the division and replaced Wilkes-Barre Area in second place.
Jonathan Mann led Wyoming Valley West with 16 points, all in the middle quarters when Hazleton Area still managed to stretch an 11-7 lead to 46-33.
Pittston Area 46, Wilkes-Barre Area 30
Jack Locker hit four 3-pointers, three of them in the second half when Pittston Area broke open a five-point game, to finish with 14 points in the road victory in a WVC Division 1 game.
Anthony Cencetti added 10 points.
Dominic Jannuzzi’s 3-pointer with 2:50 left in the third quarter started a 15-4 run that put the Patriots up, 37-21, midway through the fourth quarter.
Tunkhannock 57, Crestwood 38
Josh Brown went 5-for-5 on 3-pointers while scoring 25 points to lead Tunkhannock over visiting Crestwood in the WVC Division 1 game.
Brown made four of those 3-pointers in the second half, including three while scoring 13 points in the third quarter when the Tigers broke away, turning a 25-22 halftime lead into a 46-29 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
Ben Chilson added 15 points for Tunkhannock, which had lost 3 of its previous 4 games by a total of 80 points.
Crestwood’s Zayne Dunsmuir scored 8 of his 14 points in the first quarter, which ended in a 15-15 tie.
Hanover Area 58, Wyoming Area 53
Jake Zola scored 14 points and Mike Merth had 8 of his 13 in the fourth quarter to help visiting Hanover Area pull out the WVC Division 2 win.
Elijah Noe, with 12 points, and Melikah Gonzalez, with 11, also scored in double figures for Hanover Area.
Matt Little hit four 3-pointers while scoring 20 points. Tyler Sciandra added 13 points and Dane Schutter had 11.
