Dallas, Wilkes-Barre and Pittston Area all won Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 games by double-figures margins while making up the entirety of the boys schedule in District 2 Friday night.
Dallas 76, Wyoming Valley West 45
Austin Finarelli scored 26 points and Michael Cumbo added 17 as first-place Dallas improved to 3-0 in the division with the home-court romp.
They both got started early.
Finarelli’s first three baskets were 3-pointers on the way to 13 first-quarter points. Cumbo had eight in the quarter to help Dallas to a 27-14 lead.
Finarelli finished up for the night with seven points in the second quarter and six in the third.
Jonathan Mann scored 17 points and Ryan Sullivan added 12 for Wyoming Valley West.
Wilkes-Barre Area 46, Berwick 31
Jacob Horga and Nyquan Hollman-Santos scored 17 points each to lead the Wolfpack to the road victory.
Wilkes-Barre Area improved to 2-0 with the win.
Hollman-Santos scored eight points and Horga hit two 3-pointers as the Wolfpack pulled away with a 16-7 fourth quarter.
Sean Murphy led Berwick with 17 points.
Pittston Area 42, Crestwood 28
Pittston Area stormed into the lead with 21 straight points to end the first half and start the second half while getting host Crestwood’s title defense off to a rough start.
The Patriots trailed, 18-14, before holding the Comets scoreless for 11 minutes while scoring the final five points of the second quarter and the first 16 of the third.
Ethan Ghannam led Pittston Area with 12 points.
Dominic Januzzi hit three 3-pointers in the middle quarters and wound up with 11.
J.J. Walsh pitched in with nine points. Anthony Cencetti hit two 3-pointers while scoring all eight of his points during the third quarter.
Zayne Dunsmuir scored 16 points to lead Crestwood, but the rest of the Comets managed just three field goals total over the last three quarters.
