Holy Redeemer overcame a six-point, fourth-quarter deficit Saturday afternoon to knock off visiting Lake-Lehman, 32-30, and create a tie at the top of the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 girls standings.
Faith Sekol’s 3-pointer with about 30 seconds left completed a rally from a deficit that was as high as nine points late in the first half.
After Sekol gave the Lady Royals a 31-30 lead, Karissa Spade added one of two free throws.
Spade scored 7 of her game-high 11 points in the fourth quarter for Holy Redeemer.
Holy Redeemer held Lake-Lehman to 10 second-half points while avenging a 37-18 loss from earlier in the season.
Lake-Lehman (7-2) overall and Holy Redeemer (6-3) are both 4-2 in the division. The Lady Knights won the WVC overall title last season after Holy Redeemer won Division 2 with a perfect record in the regular season.
Claire Dougherty scored 10 points to lead Lake-Lehman.

Wyoming Area 49, Nanticoke 47
Like Holy Redeemer, Wyoming Area has played a series of close games lately.
And, like the Lady Royals, the Lady Warriors used a fourth-quarter comeback to produce a victory that could have an impact on the WVC Division 2 race.
Wyoming Area moved to within a half-game of the division lead by scoring 11 of the game’s final 13 points and outscoring Nanticoke, 21-11, in the fourth quarter.
Morgan Janeski scored 22 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked a shot in the lane with 5.1 seconds left for Wyoming Area.
Anna Wisnewski hit two 3-pointers while scoring 8 of her 11 points in the fourth quarter.
“The game changed on Anna Wisnewski’s 3s in the fourth quarter,” Wyoming Area coach Chad Lojewski said.
Janeski and Erika Holweg also hit 3-pointers during the second quarter to keep Wyoming Area in striking distance.
Kaitlyn Slusser followed Janeski’s block with another in the closing seconds.
Following an offensive foul with 0.8 seconds left, Nanticoke received a bench technical foul and Janeski hit one of two free throws to close the scoring.
“Olivia Allen and Kaitlyn Slusser really played great defense,” Lojewski said. “They were the unsung heroes, the ones that nobody talks about, but the coaches notice.”
The team rebounding effort included six by Wisnewski and five each by Halle Kranson and Maria Amato.
The Lady Warriors had been 0-3, all by eight points or less, since returning from a COVID-19 break of more than two weeks.
