Dunmore girls move on to semifinals

District 2 chairman Frank Majikes announced in a Friday morning e-mail that the Dunmore girls team has been advanced to the semifinals of the Class 4A girls tournament.

Nanticoke has withdrawn from the tournament.

“Please be aware the Dunmore/Nanticoke girls game scheduled for tonight will NOT be played and Dunmore will be awarded a win and advance to the semifinals,” Majikes’ announcement read.

No explanation was given.

Dunmore is coming out of COVID-19 protocol after multiple positive tests within its team.

The Lady Bucks will host Berwick Monday night.
