Brandon Reed scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half Saturday afternoon to help Riverside break open a one-point game and defeat visiting Wyoming Area, 54-42, in a non-league boys game.
The win allowed Riverside to match Wilkes-Barre Area at 4-0 for the best record by a District 2 team.
Todd Monahan, who added 15 points for the Vikings, hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter and Reed added one to stake the Vikings to a 16-8 lead.
Wyoming Area rallied to within 27-26 at halftime.
Reed had nine points while the Vikings were outscoring the Warriors 15-10 in the third quarter to take a six-point lead.
Frankie Antoniacci went 5-for-6 from the line and Reed went 5-for-7 during the fourth quarter to lock up the win.
Antoniacci finished with 14 points.
Nick Elko led a balanced attack for Wyoming Area (0-2) with 11 points. Jake Greenfield added 10 while Jesse Mikolichyk and Evan Melberger added 8 each.

Secoy Roberts went 10-for-14 from the line while scoring 20 points to lead host South Williamsport to the Mid-Penn League.
South Williamsport opened a 13-2 lead after one quarter, then stretched it to 34-13 at halftime and 48-19 after three quarters.
Matt Pierontoni hit two 3-pointers and scored 10 points to lead Northwest (1-3).
