- Lackawanna Trail tied for the third-best record in 2010-11, but won the Lackawanna League Division 3 championship by winning first-half and all-season titles.
- The Lions won three divisional playoff games in 2011. They finished in a three-way tie for first in the first half, then defeated Montrose, 51-49, and Blue Ridge, 59-53, to win the half. After finishing tied for fourth in the second half with a 3-4 record, the Lions edged second-half champion Montrose, 49-48, in the all-season playoff.
- Lackawanna Trail has a 1-6 record in its six state tournament appearances.
- The Lions won their state tournament debut, beating Forest City, 68-52, in 1970 in Class C, the smallest of three classifications at the time. Lackawanna Trail was the District 12 champion and Forest City was playing in District 2.
- The 1970 state tournament trip included back-to-back games against its future rivals in District 2. The Lions lost to Northwest, 81-67, in the state quarterfinals. Northwest was the champion of District 4 that year when the tournament featured just the 12 district champions.
- Lackawanna Trail has won four district titles. It won District 12 Class C in 1970 and 1972, then District 12 Class A in 1986 and 1987. In each case, it was playing in the smallest classification.
- The Lions two most recent state tournament appearances came in Class 2A after finishing fourth in District 2 in both 2001 and 2004.
- In 2001, the Lions opened the state tournament with eventual state champion Trinity and lost, 62-45.
- Dalton, Factoryville and Nicholson all made state tournament appearances before merging to form Lackawanna Trail.
- Dalton went 1-4 in four trips to the state tournament between 1939 and 1946. In 1945, the first year the PIAA split into two classes, Dalton picked up its only state win, beating Montgomery, 48-26. It then lost in the quarterfinals to an eventual state champion from District 2, losing to McAdoo, 34-20.
- Factoryville lost, 78-17, to Coal Township in its only state game in 1934.
- Nicholson lost, 38-15, to Berwick in its only state game in 1936.
